» Site Navigation | | » Recent Threads | | My 318ti build 05-21-2024 04:48 PM 05-28-2024 06:42 PM 1 Replies, 2,057 Views | | OMG!OMG! 05-28-2024 08:53 AM 05-28-2024 08:53 AM 0 Replies, 483 Views | | | | | | 12-16-2007, 11:49 PM | #1 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | car is leaking coolant so i searched a ton of threads and learned a lot about the common leaks and causes but heres my story. when i got my red ti the past owner said he had his mechanic or something bypass the heater thingy (those were his words lol) he meant heater core. well anyways i unbypassed the heater core and now the car is leaking from the evaporator condensate drain on the motor side of the firewall. anyways that just shows that i have a bad heater core correct? i just wanna see if anyone else has had this same problem. i am not looking forward to the dash removal and mass amount of work to replace the core! but anyways let me know if you think it could be anything else. i have check the plastic fittings and not leaking. checked everything i hve read and still leaks out of the drain tubes. thanks again everyone -Josh (hope that made sense)lol __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 12-17-2007, 12:00 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: NJ Posts: 1,625 | make sure it is not leaking from the (# 9) plastic coolant pipe from photo below... it is on the back side of your engine, right in front of your firewall (and it is a bitch to replace).. my car has a slight coolant 'drip' coming from that plastic connector.
