I searched the ICE board and couldn't find anything on this... I may get an extra OEM amp from an M3, and wondering if it could be swapped with the amp in the ti without any wire hacking? Simple P'N'P... Mine came with the 10 speaker setup, but could use a little more power... I'm not looking to run 1000w subs or anything, just an upgrade. I already have an aftermarket HU thats using the stock harness and amp... Anyone? If I have to hack and splice, then I will just forget about the M3 amp and go to Best Buy... __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. A local guy had tried putting the amp in his 325is, but he couldn't get it working... my guess is that you can't use it without having the upgraded stereo system to begin with... Well, the answer is yes, it works perfectly... But getting the stock ti amp out is a royal pain... The amps are the same size, with slightly different mountings, but easily swapped... wiring is pnp, no issues there... the m3 amp is about 200w if I recall, no idea what the stock ti one is that came with the 10 speaker system, but the m3 one is an upgrade Getting the stock unit out requires some deft and agile fingers. I had to remove the antennae so I had enough room to get at the harness to disconnect it, and then unbolting the amp from it's mounting bracket while it was still in the cubby area so I could get them both out of the car... no room to manuever in that tiny space. but all is well now and the new amp powers the speakers much nicer __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion.
