I've only had it a month or so now...

Last night 1am, some (drunk?) sideswiped me, he had a truck...
HE was coming right at me on a narrow road, I flashed my Highs
to get his attention, I could not move over due to parked cars on my side
he was coming right at me, he then Did Veer away, but took out the
whole drivers side.

Pealed back the door, tore off mirror, dented both quarter panels.
ripped all molding off.... I was sick...

I stopped the car, and I saw him hit his breaks also...
then he rounded a corner and sped away...

By the time I was able to turn around He was long gone..
It was a narrow street and there were cars on the sides.

I didnt call the cops because I had also had about 5 drinks at the wine
bar, and although I wasent drunk, Legally here in Wisc, your DRUNK if
you consume more than 2 beers in 2 hrs. And the police would take
about 15 minutes just to get to me.. Just to take a report.

My insuruance wont cover it either

my brother-in-law estiamted it at about 4 thousand $$, the whole
side needs to be replaced...

What do you guys think ?!? It is Drivable, just looks Ghetttto !!

do I just Junk it ?! or pay to fix it ?!? Damn, I love that car.
where could I find those parts ?! I cant find any junkyards locally
that have any Ti's.

Thanks.

That sucks.
Who will be doing the repairs?
Is it only body damage?
Is the frame OK?
Are the wheels OK?

All of the pieces generally get replaced, not banged out.
It will be tough to sell a damaged car for any money.

Steve,/

All Just body damage... Didnt even touch the rims or anything, It drives just fine still, Just that the deeo is pealed back a bit at the crease, and it has big scratches down the whole side.

I was able to Buff out alot of the white paint on my vehicle, but theres still scratches, and now chipping paint.

I should upload a picture.

There must be something in the air (warning all ti drivers!): a blithering idiot rammed into my door last Wednesday afternoon. Luckily, he stopped and accepted his error. But for the scrapped door panel and rubbing strip, the estimate is $2K. So the $3.5 to 4K for the job doesn't sound unreasonable.

be careful,
B

So.... Like 4 days and no response..

this board seems dead, ...

Just 1 more question... WIll a regular 318 front fender fit
a 318ti ?! because I am unable to find a 318ti fender anywhere.
drivers-side. and that website above says its for a TI,
but when ya call they list it as a 4 door fender.

If I were you I would order the new parts and try and install them myself. That should save you some money, however, the time issue then comes into play.

AS for the fender issue, I can't tell you for sure, but upon comparing a picture of a 4 door 318 and the ti, I would say that the fenders are indeed the same. However, you can't go wrong asking your local dealer or whomever you are purchasing parts from.

Well....

Here we are again....

My car has been in the shop 2 weeks, and my baby should be returning
today. !!!

In the process i have driven 2 rental cars, and my friends 95 ford escort.

1st rental: 2004 Mitsu. Lancer, (base) big P.o.s. No power, crappy handling, feels like a tin can.

2nd rental: 2003 toyota Echo..... Need I say more ?!?

Needless to say, after driving these 2 (new) cars, I miss my TI even more.. I guess I forgot what an amazing car it is. Everything is right at your fingertips in that car, handling is amazing, accelleration although not award winning, tons better than the (new) cars.

So .. My Ti... Needed a New front fender w/ side marker, new door, new rear quarter panel, new drivers side molding, new sidemarker, and new drivers side mirror.

My mirrors (blue) were fading, and chipping around the rims, so I just ordered 2 so they would match.

as long as it was in the shop, I figured they mise as well paing the bottom GREY trim to match, and remove the paintchips on the grill....

So yes, It was a long wait... But hopefully today. !!! ay aya ya aya ya ya

yup, you never know what ya have till you loose it for a little while !!

Thanks for listening to my rant.

About two months ago a few of my friends came home from college and so we decided to drive to Malibu for the day. I was driving about sixty down PCH right before Zuma when a truck changes lanes into my right fender. Trying my best to avoid the accident I swerved into the left hand turn lane. Well, in front of me was a center divider so I took my already smashed car and drifted at what was about forty onto a side street, hit a patch of gravel to the side to the road and spun out. Despite my training and efforts to handle I still ended up hitting a wall on top of all of that. I did not hit the wall very hard but nonetheless my car was a wreck. It took me a month to get the money together and in total I put about four grand into getting it to it's former condition. The guy that hit me never even slowed down. I couldn't take my accident to insurance because I'm eightteen and can barely afford my monthly anyways. I feel your pain.
