Ya, I'm on board to help you finish your build, hence my contribution here. I'm looking forward to seeing your great build get on the road.

Hey have fun on that crank bolt. The torque is way up there. If you don't have a flywheel lock tool I can tell you how to make one with a bolt and two nuts. Also my torque wrench does not even come close to what the manual calls for so I can also guide you on how to make a adapter for you torque wrench so it doubles it's torque value. Fun stuff...I need to take a picture of one of the tools we made for a S52 and attach

Best of luck, John S

Hi John! Ya I looked it up and it's torqued to 300ft lbs. I do have a few lock up pins and a 3/4" breaker bar. On my 540/M62tu, I used my impact gun to break the bolt loose. I have a 4' bar I slip over my breaker bar for more leverage.

I just want to see Earl's build move forward. .

I'm looking forward to your pics on custom tools. Always looking for easier easy to do stuff.

Hi Earl! I'll be heading to the yards on Saturday. I'll send a pic then pull the pulley.

Earl,

Sorry, I arrived at the yard and found they pulled and probably crushed the 318i with the M44. Sorry I missed this one for you.

The next nearest M44 on is about 50 mi away that I pulled a secondary air pump about two weeks ago. However, I won't be able to get down there tomorrow. (Easter) I'll keep an eye on the local yards for another 318 here this next week, unless there's another member in Stockton that can pull the balancer for you this week. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Good Morning Earl. Spotted a recent M44 in San Jose, CA. Just a little to far for me to hop over to. Still keeping an eye out.
