Ignition door key swap between 95 and 96

I just got a 95 ti and the key is funky as it takes quite a bit of figeting to get the doors open and the ignition on. I found online a guy selling "BMW E38 318 TI COMPACT COMPLETE ECU EWS LOCKS AND KEYS" and the descriptions says:
"COMPLETE ECU WITH THE EWS UNIT AND ALL LOCKS WITH ONE KEY FROM A 1996 318Ti COMPACT WIILL FIT ALL 318 E36'S"

However, a guy on this site told me that 96's EWS (EWS2??) is a different one than mine....is this correct?? Will what this guy's selling work for me?

If you're having issues with all three door locks as well as the ignition, there's probably a problem with your key. Have you considered ordering a new key from the dealer? Just seems a little silly to go through all that for something so simple.
