They insyst that they do BMW factory colors but it still seems weird to me that BMW produces 2 almost the same colors with different names.. Any opinion/ suggestion? Thanks and Best Regards, | | | 05-29-2007, 09:01 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | It is a BMW color. 353 Ascotgrόn Ascot Green Green Looks like maybe something that is used on the motorcycles as opposed to the cars. The models- R850R, R1100R, R850C, R1200C. | | | 05-29-2007, 10:02 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: North Cali Posts: 13 | Thanks for the replay. Actually, I did not express my self clear. I do not question 353 Ascotgrün Ascot Green Green as a BMW color for cars or motorcycles thru the years. I just could not find it applicapable for any E36 car. Eventually with your help I am trying to justify buying this lip spoiler for my car having good enough color match. | | | 05-29-2007, 10:08 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | Sorry for any confusion. I'll agree with you that it does not look like that color was used on an e36. Was just saying that it is used on some of the motorcycles. They should be able to tell you what kind of difference there is between that color code and your color code. Have you given the vendor your paint code? Did they respond and say this is an exact match? It is very possible it is the same paint with a different name/code whether it is for a car or bike. | | | 05-30-2007, 04:35 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | I have seen lots of Ascot Green Ti's over the years. I belive L84THSKY has an AG Ti. Does not look like Fern green or Boston Green either. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 05-30-2007, 07:19 PM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: North Cali Posts: 13 | Thank you all Thank you guys, you rock. Just asking because i want to order some paint. I would look for it under the hood but my car is at the shop so i can't. FYI- attached are all BMW color codes, I think. But yes, Ascot green is a valid e36 color. I remember seeing it on the chart of known e36 colors. If I find the link, I'll edit. . . | | | 01-14-2008, 10:49 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | Quote: Originally Posted by duke.sf My car is Boston green, so I can not double check under the hood for you, but seems 353 is the right number for Ascot green.
