Default Metric Mechanic 2100 ST Hi-Flo FI Install

This will be the new thread of my build of a 1997 318is with a Metric 2100cc ST HiFlo FI motor with a DASC boosting 14-15 psi. Car will get a ZF Transmission, 3.23 LSD, hollow axles. Below are pictures of the car to receive the transplant. It is currently a stock M44 with DASC and will run a low 14 second 1/4 mile.

nice car, it could use a drop though, do you already have any suspension on it?

I dount I will post anything over there except in parts wanted section. They told me to come here since this board is more geared toward my car and always delete lock or tow my posts. My air pumps simulator thread got towed over there. Moving forward BF.C is a good place for parts and using the search function only....For me that is

I've found a forum to call home and it's here. People here help and are honest and don't bag on your stuff if it's not what everyone else runs

Car looks good. In my opinion, you should stick a set of blacked out grilles on it and lower it so the front wheel gap isn't so...sizeable.

Yea I want to lower the front but what's it cost to do that? New springs and what else? or go with the torch like I did back in the 80's on my Chevelle, Caramo and Vega

Yeah it's not particularly cheap. You'd need springs and new shocks/struts. Plus some other stuff. Cost really depends on the set up you go with but for bilsteins and H&R sports its around $750.

Do they sell drop spindles to bolt in for a 2" drop with my current struts. The car already has a sport suspension since it is a "is" model. I think it has the M3 suspension or something similar.

ZF, LSD and full driveline replaced this weekend. Car drives great and it knocked about 500 rpm off hwy rpm. Added a little weight but well worth it for the reliability. Took me 3 solid days to get one of the CV axles out...look in differentials section for that story. I do have pictures but haven't had time to post how I got it out. It was rather interesting. Someone used Green Loc-tite on it but I still saved the hub and didn't damage a single spline. Bearings seem ok but all that heat and banging might show up later as a bad bearing

***UPDATE AND TIMELINE***

I have shipping confirmation from Metric for the 17th with delivery on Monday the 22nd. I'm pulling the current motor and transmission the weekend before the 22nd and preparing the engine bay for the new motor.

Monday the 22nd afternoon & evening port match DASC intake to head and port match throttle body to intake. Install all accessory brackets, flywheel, clutch/pressure plate. Odds and ends. Sleep

Tuesday wake up Install motor, transmission, exhaust and make all under car connection right down to the heat sheild install. Install all accessories and wiring. Start DASC install. Sleep

Wednesday wake up Finsih DASC install. Double check all sensor connections, water and fuel hoses. add oil & fluids. Start motor by noon. Follow break in instructions

***EDIT*** forgot Thursday the 25th. Be late to all family gatherings since I will be out driving with a smile on my face
