Default Anyone following Macbook Pro news?

I need to update my desktop computer at home.
I figure my current dome iMac is about 7-8 years old now.
It's running slow, can't really update it anymore.

Anyway, I'm thinking about a 15" Macbook Pro.
That way I can have everything I need when I travel.
I'll throw Windows on there so I can use it for work.
Eventually getting an external monitor and keyboard in a few more months for home.

I'm reading that the Macbook Pro may be getting updated soon.
Same thing happened when I got my Bondai Blue? iMac weeks before I bought it. Held off and got more computer for the same price.

Again when I bought my G4 iMac. I read the rumors and held off.
A couple days later, a newer iMac was released.

So. . .
Does anyone follow Mac news?
I'd like to stay slightly ahead of the curve again.

I don't know if you have already checked, but http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/ recommends: "Don't Buy - Updates soon."

VMware Fusion on a MacBook works pretty well.

Thanks!

I'm guessing Apple is waiting to get the iPad out of the way before making another announcement.

A read all about it.
Thanks!

Need to read up on the difference between Core 2, i5 and i7.
A friend recommended a 13" for travel and an external monitor for home.

I'm leaning towards a 15" but it needs to fit in my travel stuff.

I'm tempted by a 15" with a matte display.

If you're considering an Apple monitor, buy it at the same time as your MacBook to ensure that you have a 3 year warranty, rather than the paltry year it comes with. I always recommend getting the best monitor you can. Monitors can last a long time. If you think you need a 20-inch, get the 24-inch. The Dell UltraSharps are very decent.

Apple replaced my tower with a 17-inch MacBook Pro. I should have asked for the 15-inch, as it is simply too large too carry around comfortably. Furthermore, most times, it sits on my desk closed, as I have it hooked up to a 20-inch monitor.
