Default Stock Alpine Radio Bad FM Reception

Hi there,
I have a 97 with a stock Alpine cassette deck. I do listen to the radio and noticed that I have intermittent operation on the FM dial. Seems fairly solid when it's in AM. Radio hasn't been operated in some time, I imagine. I got the car just last month, and got the radio code just yesterday. Maybe some bad contacts somewhere? I saw another post regarding a similar issue, but it was for an aftermarket radio. Thanks.

Check the antenna wire where it plugs into the radio. I my memory is correct the antenna is a coaxial cable and the center wire is very delicate and prone to get misaligned when inserted into the radio. Good luck with it. John
