Default Has anyone ever Supercharged a ....?

Has anyone ever supercharged the m43tu 2000 1.9l....

I now there has been small discussion on this as a swap is easier...

However i was thinking of supercharging using a eaton m45 off the cooper s and an intercooler of the same car or the 325 tds - what do you guys think is this possible and what kind of gains would i exspect...

Low mileage motor just hit 70k well maintained - no problems SS cat back system already installed, what would i need to pull this off as a project of mine.

Any replys are appreciated as i would like any feedback possible

supercharging is easier than a swap, you say your car is a 2000, is it an E36 or E46?

well, I know that the DASC, which is made for the M44, can be used on an M42 so I'd assume it could work on an M43, they are discontinued so you'd have to buy one used but it might be easier than making a custom kit

DASC is no good contacted Atlanta a while ago i got an email stating it was no good for the m43 - just wondering if anyone can point out what i need to do and what i would require..

If anyone in the North East of England reads this also i would like there opinion if they now any decent garages i can get this done or take in my car for dyno tests etc or a ECU tuneup car and ECU preferably....

id like to boost my M43 but there seems to be very limited knowledge on the engine so im thinking i might just squirt giggle gas instead.

i have heard the M43 shares some internals with the 16v IS motor but what i dont know.. i cant even find out if i could even swap in a 16v head.

iv searched but no one really has much info about the m43 and what it can and cant do !!!

Someone needs to try it and list the results

I think the m43 is m44/m42's ilegitimate cousin, that everyone knows it exists but doesnt talk about it LOL

hey there. the eaton for the mini is a roots style blower. You would either
1)need to make a custom intake manifold, and fit the eaton to it (no intercooler)
or
2) Remote mount it, duct the intake to an air filter, and the outlet to the Intercooler, then out of the intercooler back to the stock intake/throttle body.

I'm not sure the underdrive pulley is the best way to go at first, you don't want too much boost. (should try to run at 5psi-8psi to start out). using the stock DME/ECU

Also, the eaton superchargers advantage is that it does not make alot of heat while normal driving is involved. The more you spin it, the more heat it makes.

I hope this helps
