Default e36 transmission control module query

Hi guys,

Im new to these forums from all the way in Australia.

i have an aus. spec auto 318i e36..... up until a few weeks ago the transmission was running perfect and all of a sudden i was stationary at a set of lights and i had a light come on the dash which was the "transmission control module failure" - i turned the car off and back on and it disappeared... could any one tell me where the control module for the transmission is located in the car? under the steering, glovebox etc?

if anyone else has had this problem what was the issue and what did you do to fix it?

thanks in advance

Right above the ECU. On the passenger side of the car behind the battery under a cover here in the states.
Where in Aussie land?
