1996, automatic. I'm pretty sure it's just the base model as the seats are cloth and not heated. It does have a sunroof though. No spoiler

Default My new/old baby..

Purchased last week, my new toy is a '94 built 1.8 manual with just 2 owners and travelled 145km. It has the 10 spoke 15inch alloys, no factory alarm or air con (bit disappointed about that... but it's lighter too I guess!). I have a set of 17's comming for it next week and have replaced the shock absorbers with 4 new Monroe GT's. It's a great car that puts a smile on my face every time I use it and it was cheap to buy. Couldn't ask for more for the money really!

On a personal side.. 49 years young last week with 2 school aged boys and a perfect wife (just in case she reads this...)
I have been involved in motorsport since a kid, a banker by trade I quit and became a sales manager for Mercedes, Jeep, Chrysler, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, dabbled in importing Porsche, Audi, BMW. Have driven Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Bently, Lotus. Very lucky aye! I had the privlidge of lots of track time in new Mercedes/Porsche and Chrysler in particular. At the time it was the fun part of my job. The last 4 years or so I have been engineering, making horse transporters, mobile coffee/fastfood, small motorhomes.... That's me in summary. Looking forward to getting the Ti onto a track for a bit of light fun of course...

The new wheels were from a E36 M3 and are wearing 235/40/17's so on the Ti, they look pretty good

Of course there are stuff to be done in the interior - exterior and some care on the engine but it runs great!!!

May be i`ll even put again the bbs alloy wheels that ive stored in the basement , but i love the stock wheels also...

Well , i will try to restore whatever i can to its original state and functionality.

I will replace all the burned lightbulbs and troubleshoot the trunk light ,
then repair the obc diplay , i believe is an easy fix (the rubbery thingy thats attached to the lcd might be damaged either from heat or is out of position).
Right after that i will have to take out the instruments because i have a bad connection on the light behind the temprature indicator.

In the engine well i have oily spark plug tops and im have some annoying drops of oil on my parking floor...

Then the roof linen on the cabin is held by pins so i might try to fix it..and thats it!

The color is still in good shape actualy!! But if it wasnt i would probably go for plastic wrapping..

1998 Base model, moreagrun, automatic, although I have replaced more base model parts with Sport model stuff than I care to think about. M3 twisty rocker panels will be the final touch.

Not too much work at all. Are you trying to re line the cabin lol or just figure out a better way to hold it up. I just got my Ti reupholstered I'm loving it.

I just joined today, though I've visited this site many times over the years... So, I have a 1998 318ti, Active package in Boston Green. I'm the original owner. Lately I've been thinking about getting a new BMW and have been considering an i3. But in the end I love my car so I'm getting some of the annoying things fixed on it. That and I'm not able to convince my hubby that a i3 is a good "investment" (quotes because cars are not investments IMO unless you're buying a collector level car...).

Anyways, I've kept up on the maintenance and while I've had some major repairs on the whole my ti has been a very reliable and fun car to drive. It fits like a glove too

Cheers,
--jan

Default My first bmw

Hi, I bought a 96' 318ti M Sport last year in March. I love the car so much. It is Alpine white with a 5 speed manual tranny. I plan to do a engine swap later this year with it. It has been a very solid car for me and I love it so much. I got it for a good price at 500. It came with halos and bi Exxon projectors which are extremely bright.

I think my silver '97 is an Active (sunroof, cruise, no fog lights, 5-speed, ASC, leather seats and wheel). I'm the second owner, have had it since 2004, now a bit over 150k miles. This replaced a 750il and think I came out with the better car. It's stock except for the xenon low beams. This daily commuter will be back on the road as soon as I replace the Bowden cable that opens the heater box. Have the part, taking the dash apart this weekend. It's a perfect city car, not the most comfortable on long drives but fun on twisty back roads.
