I was threading the wire connectors through the intake manifold and one of the solenoid connectors ? - has the wire clip snapped around it once it's connected, anyways the wire pulled out of the connector. Anyone have any ideas on how to repair this? the plastic insulator around the wire was hard and just snapped off. So now there is only a single small wire hanging there with no connector attached. As always any help would be appreciated. Thanks. | | | 01-15-2016, 07:16 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | What does the connector go to? The oil pressure sender or SAP valve or something different? | | | 01-15-2016, 08:08 PM | #3 | Member Join Date: May 2012 Location: springfield, MO Posts: 59 | it goes to the oil pressure sending unit right off of the oil filter housing | | | 01-15-2016, 09:39 PM | #4 | Member Join Date: May 2012 Location: springfield, MO Posts: 59 | ok my best bet is to find someone who has a 318ti parts car that I could buy just the female connector for the oil pressure sending unit. Then I could connect that to the wire thats just hanging and plug it in. It just has the one terminal inside. Sooooooooooooo, if anyone knows of such an item that I could buy please contact me at rs2bush@gmail.com. thank you in advance | | | 01-15-2016, 09:54 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Georgia Posts: 595 | The local pull-a-part yard has 2 1996 318TI set aside for me. Nobody else has a TI in the area. Lucky me. They are closed on weekends though. If I have time next week I will check it out for you. __________________ 1996 Ti 280k miles and still going.... 1993 964 - holding on to this one 2001 Burban, 240k miles 2018 Suburban Z71 | | | 01-15-2016, 10:31 PM | #6 | Member Join Date: May 2012 Location: springfield, MO Posts: 59 | wow, very cool. thank you so much. let me know what you find and how much. thanks for the help | | | 01-20-2016, 08:03 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Oct 2015 Location: Slidell, Louisiana USA Posts: 89 | Check Autozone or another parts store. Never had the chance to go to the junkyard yet. A quick search at AZ web site turned up PN: 414 ($9.49) or PN: 715.($4.99). Good luck. __________________ 1996 Ti 280k miles and still going.... 1993 964 - holding on to this one 2001 Burban, 240k miles 2018 Suburban Z71 | | | 01-21-2016, 04:23 AM | #10 | Member Join Date: May 2012 Location: springfield, MO Posts: 59 | Yep, I found that and called AZ and ordered the part. Should be here tomorrow. Thanks guys. I do appreciate it. I'm almost finished with putting everything back together after getting the head fixed and replacing the head gasket. All these other repairs were what I ran into putting it back together. Hopefully it all works when it's done. Will let you know. | | | 01-28-2016, 03:50 PM | #11 | Member Join Date: May 2012 Location: springfield, MO Posts: 59 | the beemer is running !!! finally after working through so many physical ailments and trying to work on the car in between it is up and running this morning. thanks to all who helped me through all my questions.
