It is my first issue of Roundel Magazine since I joined BMW CCA last month. I am very impressed with the quality of printing, very clear picture, excellent and professionally published.
You are talking about on page 103, there is a red E36 318ti won the L-prepared championship driven by David Lehmann.

Please remember it's a membership—with everything else that goes along with a membership. BMW CCA is much more than just a magazine subscription. Though, if I do say so myself, it's a pretty nice magazine!

Phil Marx,
Your name is on the Editorial Staff of Roundel Magazine, being the Managing Editor. Wow, we have a ti owner here so high up within BMW CCA, hopfully the Club would pay more attention to ti owners.

A former CCA president is also a ti owner.
Scott Hughes, BMW Club Racing had a ti.
I forget, but one of the regular columists also own a ti.

Please make a list for us of every BMW model ever made and then create a calendar of issues and coverage devoted to each model every year. Then tell us the priority you'd assign for coverage of each one and your basis for doing so: Numbers made? Numbers still on the road? Numbers owned by CCA members? Just 'cause they're your favorite?

Only one thing is certain and it's that we'll never please everyone.

Did you read my reply to the letter writers on p.16? At least it's ti-related!

Enjoy.

Oh yeah, Bailey Taylor is an original owner of a Club Sport and was a CCA president. I was elected president for three terms and served the remainder of another president's term when he resigned. All together I think I was on the CCA board for probably over ten years. Columnist Rob Siegel (The Hack Mechanic) recently bought and wrote about his 318ti.

Forgive me for raining on anyone's parade, but I don't find any purpose in reading the Roundel. I bought the membership for the dealer parts discount. Circle BMW gives a bigger discount for phone orders, than BMWCCA membership would. That means I don't need the CCA discount.

Being that I am not a BMW fan, only a 318ti fan, I probably won't renew. Not enough info on the 318ti to justify paying the subscription just for the magazine.

Like I said earlier, it's much more than just a subscription. If you don't llike driving your car in track events, or autocross, or rallies, or hanging out with other BMW owners, or going to Oktoberfest, or the Nurburgring driving school, you're right: There is not reason to renew.

And, no, I don't live within 5-hours of Greenville! I want my kids to go to GOOD public schools!
