Great motors. Built bullet-proof for boosting on my application with lots of neat mods to lighten rotating parts and improve the valve train. I run a daily driver at high boost. Have 25K miles on it with no issues. Turn it 8,000rpm, bang the limiter shift, it's a daily thing on this motor and it makes a lot of power for a I-4. The most important thing is to have a good tune or you will destroy any motor no matter how good it is built.

That is great to hear I think I'm finally gonna stick to a build. Ugh I just wish I could have the money to get it lol but I gotta be patient especially since its going to be a daily drive and be in auto cross events.

I just got back from MM. I spent the weekend there rebuilding an s52 for my ti. My friend who went with me has been talking to the guys there quite a bit about building my m44 into a boost motor to put into his e30, and they're super helpful. Just give them a call and they'll talk your ear off about what they can do for you.
While we were there my friend drove an e30 with an obd I m44 that was a 2l w/ 9:1 compression and putting out 168 whp. It was a motor they built to be boosted but is NA right now. He was having doubts on whether or not he wanted to do an m44 build with them, but after that was convinced that he should go for it.

Here is the deal. If your motor makes 150hp and you boost 15psi you will make 300hp or double it. Everytime you increase or double the atmosphere pressure you double the hp on a boosted motor.

Putting in the M47 stroker crank not only increase the displacement it also gives the rods a better angle on the crank to make torque

I put a bad whooping on a lot of cars due to light weight and lots of boost on my Metric motor. I have beat the crap out of this motor and it runs perfect always. I have over 25K miles so far of brutal driving.

I always change oil timely and keep the cooling system in top shape and run a excellent tune. I'm at 2.1L and I do have the best/lightest of everything in my motor, I think mine was around $14K but I spared no expense to ensure I had the best parts and every trick that could be done on my motor.

I'm completely happy with my MM motor and still talk to the folks at Metric often and test stuff for them occasionally.

So if we can get so much out of our engines why do ppl go with the m50-s52 engine swaps? Could it be that cuz they don't know what the m44-42 is capable. Hmmm I'm so glad I asked my question on this thread cuz I have totaled convinced in staying with my m44

Cause it's about $5000 to do a used m50 swap and it takes about $15,000 to do a turbo m 42 swap in my case it was to make one of the best m 42 to shut ppl up for always putting down the 4 bangers lots of ppl don't believe that the motor can put out 400 + what makes a Honda any better the problem is no one cares to build crazy i4 cuz u have the option to go with i6 but there's a few crazy ppl Like me and John that will take the mm motors to an other level . stay with motor turbo it and thank me latter.

Yeah I'm going to stay with my motor and save up to get the fi 2100 by mm. But I also saw that korman makes rebuilds I just have not fully checked to see if they do m42 or m44 engines and see how their build is. But im so happy that you and John have done so much to ur engines and are getting so much out of them cuz it motivates me so much more!
