Idle problem and TPS on M44 I'm in process on trying to find out why my car is throwing a code (P0505 - Idle system malfunction) after failing the emission test. While driving for about 15min and coming to a stop at a light, the idle will sometimes be normal other times it stays around 1000 rpm or it will either jump up and down between 900-1,800 rpm. I've searched for the problems I'm having, so far I've replaced the idle control valve, crank case vent valve, vacuum hoses, 02 sensor (pre-cat), replace MAF with a junkyard one, and checked the AFM hose for any cracks and there was none. I rest the code and it was gone, but not until I rev the engine, the code comes back. Is there anything that I missed that will cause this code to appear? When I replace the idle control valve, I accidentally removed throttle position sensor. Is there anyone that can tell me what the resistance is suppose to be at when adjusting the TPS? I have a Chilton repair manual, but it doesn't say anything about resistance. Jason |
