I will be getting the same style, make sure you have the right model number, I think there are 3 or 4 differance types.

i have the model under that, the only difference between the 2 is the display, but i am very pleased with it, sounds great, works great, and looks great, and i have the ipod attachment for it, and the way alpine has all the ipod hooks ups work through the deck insted of the ipod is great!! i have to say id recomend that one

I'm going to tell you to wait till next years models come out if your planning on using an ipod with it. Why you ask because it takes forever to search through the artists to find what you want. Don't get me wrong it's a great radio but for ipod use it sucks. I was planning on buying this when it came out for my ipod and my friend bought it and installed it in his car. Ever since i used his i hated it and i'm glad i did not waste my money on it.

I agree as well, it does take forever to scroll through the Alpine deck and try to find what you want to listen too. But then again you can always just make a play list of the songs you hear frequently.
I just bought the Alpine CDA-9856, works awesome. Its right underneath that model your looking at getting only difference is that the Bluetooth if I'm not mistaken and how the text on the screen looks, they both give you the same 50watt peak/ 18 watt RMS both are Ipod Compatible/MP3/WMA and HD Radio and Satellite Radio ready. And about $150 price difference between the two. Remember the Ipod cable is an extra 20 bucks.
Hope this helps

Thanks Planetace...........I did look into the 9856 as well. The reason I was thinking about the 9857 was more for the bluetooth capability. However, I have been since told that the feature creates a very hollow sound when heard through the speakers (when integrating it with a phone). I was thinking this would be a good hands free feature. However, I would still have to buy the interface module which is an additional $220.00. Anyway, the 9857 was on sale for $279.00 at a local store. Price did not seem too bad.
