Sure a Magnaflow or a nice catback system might sound better, but hey it was free right. If you get tired of it you could always replace it with something nicer. For me it's the physical looks of the muffler that are unappealing. | | | 04-22-2012, 08:10 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2012 Location: wonderlake Posts: 21 | Yeah I agree. It sounds nice but it is loud. It took the rasp out of the exhaust tho. It's weird. I still have the stock resonator and I have a new cat on it. After a week I'll either hate it or love it I don't know yet. We will see. | | | 04-22-2012, 08:10 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Ft Defiance, AZ Posts: 686 | Quote: Originally Posted by cooljess76 I don't think it sounds that bad. I just put a Magnaflow on mine and it was about the same - sounds good, but even with the stock resonator and cat it's pretty loud. I don't mind, but my wife doesn't like it. It seems like it mellowed out a lot after a week, so I'm happy with it. Only thing I don't like is that it cut my gas mileage by quite a bit. The car sounds better so I floor it more often just to hear the sound! __________________ Trixie Alpine White 1996 BMW 318ti Sport | | | 04-23-2012, 12:38 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: South Central, MN Posts: 1,065 | Could be worse, could be better __________________ | | | 04-23-2012, 01:10 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | i like the sound. the idea of it being a fart can in the back of your mind will eventually gnaw at you until you decide to change it. let it rock for a few weeks...then decide. __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 04-23-2012, 02:08 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | I actually think it sounds really good. Sounds like the right amount of noise. No rasp is good. Looks, Ehh not a big fan, but sound.. I'm on board. __________________ Im guessing im the youngest member on here with a S52 power'ed Ti at 16 years old! | | | 04-23-2012, 02:30 AM | #12 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2012 Location: wonderlake Posts: 21 | | | | 04-23-2012, 02:38 AM | #13 | Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Australia Posts: 50 | I don't mind the sound of it to be honest! And the fitment is actually pretty good with the cutout of the bumper. I do prefer the look of my stromung a little more though. | | | 04-23-2012, 02:43 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | looks pretty good to me, be nicer if it had a rolled edge but for free I'd rock something like that | | | 04-23-2012, 02:44 AM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | that doesnt look bad at all... fits pretty perfectly. slam it so no one can see the fart can status underneath __________________ Im guessing im the youngest member on here with a S52 power'ed Ti at 16 years old! | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
