Default Wiring fogs with HID...

I have the bulbs, ballasts, but I don't have the power harness.. I went over to ddmtuning and i saw a adapter for the hid fogs for the e36. I don't know if I understand properly, but it seems that you can get power from the power switch for the fogs? Which means that I don't need the power cords that run from the battery? I have low beam hids connected properly with the harness and everything. I am a little confused.
OH one more thing. Are the ballasts waterproof??? I sure hope so, because they are down there by the fogs, bulbs properly and securely installed inside fogs with the rubber hole and everything.
Thanks!

That depends on the quality of the ballast that you have, high quality ballast are water proofed by injecting silicone into them, lower quality ballast are not.

I've seen several HID power supplies from cheap kits blow chunks.
Most quit burning once the fuse blew.

I'd make sure the power supplies were protected, I used a couple radio shack project boxes to provide a out shell of protection from water and road slime.
I used the black ones with an aluminum face, that way the supply could be against the AL and get rid of heat. Only tried this on 1 car so far we shall see....

I was thinking the same thing.. But found a waterproof kit with plug n play for the fog connector.. It sounds sweet!!! it costs only 65 bucks with the shipping. So I'm probably doing that and maybe trying to sell mine... maybe do a post here they are in a perfect condition.
