I know that Eibach s/b hits the ASC module. The R/D is a rectangular profile so it might even come straight over the engine. Would appreciate a note if anyone has successfully installed an R/D in a ASC equipped ti. Say this arrow is to the front, ^, the bar will look like this /-\ around the engine and intake manifold and ACS. | | | 04-14-2004, 07:33 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bellevue, WA, USA Posts: 26 | Thanks, I guess it's safe to get one of these. Did you pick up any noticable improvement in handling with the bar? | | | 04-15-2004, 06:47 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | no a upper strut bar is mostly for look For performance get an OEM Xbrace. | | | 04-17-2004, 02:19 AM | #7 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! No more creaking windshield on off-camber approaches (did you wonder what that c-r-r-e-a-k noise was??) | | | 04-19-2004, 12:58 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | Strut Brace - These mount on the shock towers to minimize tower flex due to the unibody construction. These have a modest impact since the towers only flex under very stressful situations. Posts: 3,156 | Placing the weight of the vehicle on oppisite corner wheels is what I'd classify as "very stressful". This happens on off-camber approaches (every time you approach a bump to keep the air-dam on the car). Old IROC Z's poped windshields all the time if you give them some motor and tires that actually hook. The doors suffered as well- never closing properly again... Similar stresses (though excessive) on 'c'-frame trucks off road cause them to twist... But, to give credit, 99.995% of the time on the street they are simply dead weight slowing the car (because of the added weight) rather than helping performance in any way. ((But they do LOOK cool.... and that's all that REALLY matters, right?)) | | | 08-29-2004, 03:27 PM | #10 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2003 Location: potomac falls virginia Posts: 5 | iam looking for a front strut bar that will fit my dasc 95 ti. i have tried a strong strut bar but it did not clear the throttle cable bracket unless i raised the bar so high that the hood would not close. also went to electrodyne as i live in northern va and their bar would not work either. strong strut makes a nice butt strut for the ti and older e30 cars. it mounts under the car and takes the wiggle out of the suspension that is common with that setup. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
