Default Any interest in a Euro model 1999 323ti Sport?

I am about to purchase a 1999 323ti, which was imported direct from Italy. It HAS been "federalized" to US specs (this is a VERY costly process). Obviously the car is insanely rare here, but I wan't to judge the interest/price offers I could get on it if I plan to sell it in 6 months to a year. So leave a post with how much you would pay for or if you would be interested.
It is FULLY loaded with all option plus BMW M Sport package, and is a 5 speed of course. Best part...ONLY 42,000 MILES!! I live in DC METRO area by the way.

This would be the only one I have ever heard of and would truly be a collector's item in the US. I'm in the DC area and would love to see it.

You would need to find someone who really wants such a rare car otherwise people will treat it like any other car. It's like when people do a conversion or lots of mods. They rarely get what they put into it.

I apologize for the multiple threads. I wasn't sure which forum people checked the most. I am trying to seal the deal on it tonight, if I do, then I will most certainly bring it to the next "meet" the club has. Let me ask you though, will it be very difficult to maintain/repair since it is not sold here? I would love to own such a rare car, but of course don't want to pay sky high prices to maintain it

One more question (please excuse my ignorance, as this opportunity only presented itself yesterday, and I am not schooled in TI knowledge at all) Would the 1999 model be considered E46 style?

I don't think it will be difficult to get it serviced. Of course you will not have a warranty.
I have a 2.8 in my ti. 328 brakes. Front suspension from an M3. Larger diff, different tranny and driveshaft. The list goes on. Basically it is a 318ti with a 2.5 liter. Most of the parts are 318ti, engine parts are available here. I've been able to align my car to 323ti specs.

E36. 1999 was the last year for the ti. 2000 would be an E46.

I would get it, my brother has a 1980 323i that was imported from germany. It makes the car really unique yet it's a BMW and you can still get all the parts you need for it.

my 1997 was federalized....wish i knew how much it cost for the owner.

finding a 323ti is no problem for me, I can find 20+ right now at this min. already checked on freight from France to Miami. my dad offered to pay the freight for me if I found a good one, which I was looking, but then decided on a Club Sport instead.

If I was going to bring anything over it would be a e36 Evo or e30 Evo...other than that not much else is worth the trouble.

Default how fast?

how fast should I expect the 323ti to be? I looked up the E36 323is and that said 7.1s 0-60. The 323ti has the same engine but only weighs 2980 pounds, so I'm thinking it should be pretty quick?

OT: What's the E36 Evo?

I think the 323 would be quicker...obviously. Bigger engine on a small/nimble platform. I think it would be hella fun to drive.

E36 M3 with a 3.2L 321 horsepower six. It has an engine configuration similar to the S54 with individual throttle bodies. It also was offered with the SMG.
