It's the reservoir. If you look from under the car, it's the black cylinder box with 2 hoses running out of it, one big and one small. the small one is connnected to the pipe in the front of the car, the big one runs to the steering pump, which is located near the sterring rod. Hope this help __________________ Love my ti | | | 11-04-2005, 01:21 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Thousand Oaks, California Posts: 343 | Thanks. Jack up the car (and remember to support it with jack stands). That area is more than enough room for you to work on your reservoir. If you don't have jack and jack stand...well, that's another story. __________________ Love my ti | | | 11-04-2005, 09:57 PM | #7 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Bellevue, WA Posts: 5 | I've got a PS leak. Haven't been under the car yet, but judging from the appearance of the intake hose, it looks like the hose is leaking at the reservoir. Tomorrow (Sat.) I'm going to be draining the PS system, replacing the hose and clamps, as well as all of the gaskets on the other hoses, and re-filling. I'll try to remember to take pictures. As long as we're on the subject, does anyone know the fill capacity of the system? I'm thinking that two quarts of Mobil One Dexron III (technically Mobile Multi-Purpose ATF) will do the trick. Yes? Anyone have a better PS fluid suggestion? | | | 11-04-2005, 10:13 PM | #8 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | With the time change last week it leaves me 1 day a week to work on my car,it sucks getting out of work at 5 and it's dark. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 11-05-2005, 07:14 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Southern California Posts: 225 | ATF works fine. Just buy one quart. It takes only half of that or so to fill up the reservoir. __________________ Love my ti | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
