IMO you're askin a little too much for a car '97 with 140000 and rust. KBB isn't a bible but it's a starting point. I bought my wife a '97 last year with ~60K miles on it and everything is beautiful. Sunroof, brand new tires. I paid $7000. You might want to reconsider your pricing. But hey, that's just me.

Any rust is pretty unusual for these cars unless it was in an accident.
Good luck with the sale.

You obviously haven't spent much time in Ohio! Why do you think they call it the "Rust Belt"?

It's right at two years ago that I bought my Active '98, automatic, Titanium Silver, black leather, rear spoiler, OE 5-spoke wheels, vented front rotors, with 120,000 on it for $5300, one owner; full maintenance history with just-installed Bilsteins and Zimmerman drilled rotors.

What I call my P.T.Barnum theory of car sales ("There's an ass for every seat") would indicate that maybe someone, somewhere will think any BMW under $10K is a good deal. I hope I find that one person when I need them!

I've seen cars from there. I thought the rust protection was a bit better on Bimmers. I see some pretty scary cars on the road when I go to Mid-Ohio. I am never quite sure what is holding them together.

Oooops. Don't mean to hijack the thread.
