Default Aftermarket cat install.

I am looking at installing an aftermarket catalytic converter with a 2.25 inner diameter to the stock 2" inner diameter on the ti. Will I need an adapter for the different sizes or can I just use lap joint clamps or weld the joints together? All the other specs are the exact same as the OEM cat only difference is the inner diameter.

Thanks!

It's my understanding that an aftermarket cat will trip the CEL.

Well, a used one is going to have a lot of miles too.

Magnaflow makes a cat that is supposed to work.

I think I found the magnaflow one for around $200. I might hold off and replace the O2 sensors first and keep my eyes open for a good deal.

Here's a smokin deal and the seller is a great guy. It's for a '95 (OBDI), but I believe you can have a post cat o2 sensor bung welded in place.

i had the 0420 and replaced with an aftermarket cat code still set after about 1 hour run time. i eventually spaced out the 02 sensors and no problems since.
