Default abs light

abs light came on along with the dumb brake pad sesor light. I replace the the brake pad sensor and the light went off and now the abs light stayed on. My understsanding the abs suppose to go off soon as the sensor is replaced like my e38 but the dumb thing stayed on so its another bmw thing anyone has experienced similiar problem.

Usually if the problem is corrected the ABS light will go over after a very short drive (less than a mile). If the problem persists and you don't want to throw parts at it I can scan the ABS codes and let you know what the problem is.

You probably damaged the sensors while driving, look at surrounding area near the replaced brake pad sensor.

The brake pad sensor shouldn't trigger the ABS light, so there is another issue. As dahamler mentioned, check all the ABS sensors.

Check the brake fluid level, if your down enough to turn on the wear light you are also down far enough to have gotten air in the system if the fluid has not been topped off.
