Default main battery switch

Mallard's VIN decode shows my car has option code 818 - main battery switch. Anyone know what this, location, how, why, etc?

818 was a hunky switch and cable the factory installed between the battery and the negative battery cable on export cars. It was used to disconnect the battery during the long journey to an overseas dealer and protect it against discharge The factory snaked the cable up to the front seat for easy access by the loaders. The switch and cable was removed by the receiving dealer once the car was under their care.
