Although 4k euros isn't cheap, you'd still think that these would be covered for that price...

What's not included

Channel Crossing
Any fines or tickets
Petrol
Tolls
Return Journey

I would at least like the organizers to pay for my crossing, let alone the trip back...

It's actually (GBP) not Euros, so that's even more. $5955 (USD) to be exact I'm actually kind of surprised though. I remember the British Pound was almost $3 USD

Oops, my bad, I am so used to seeing Euros, rather than Sterling...

Ok, let's see. If we were to stage that here in Cali, running from San Diego to Shasta or maybe Tahoe;

2 nights of 4 star hotel rooms (first night in Santa Barbara, Second in SF (or Wine Country) - $900

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, 3 days, 2 ppl - $900

Champagne Reception - $50 per bottle

Beach Party - $50 per keg + tap x 3 - $150

$2000 per car with 2 ppl, one third the price with better weather and scenery. (Of course, you will still have to pay for your own speeding tickets!)

(and lastly: the chance to see more Ti's in one place at one time than ever before? - priceless...)

Who's in?

im in
but I will do it for substantially less money

Campsite - free (i squat). you can sleep in the ti if need be; you just gotta put your head in the trunk (and be able to sleep on a bit of a downward incline) Thats more of a last resort, Im more at home in a tent than a house.

I dont know what kind of meals you eat, but I get $360 for meals ($10/meal per person, 3 meals a day, round trip) You would have to spend $50/person/meal to hit $900 for 3 days. What do you do for a living, I obviously am in the wrong line of work.

We can add in say $300-400 for alcohol and related activities.

Which brings me to about $800 dollars for gas and potential squatting troubles. Im being rather liberal in my numbers too.

so, even though you're registered in some race, you can still get speeding tickets? since they've made it pretty public I'm sure there are going to be police set up all down the track

They might aswell set up spike strips. Save the police gas money.

I was calculating the cost based on comparable $ that the Euro Organizers will spend for their event... Obviously, it could be done for less...

There is an annual 1000 mile California rally that a Ferrari group puts on that I am sure costs even more...
