Default Trim piece fell off, how do I put it back on?

Ok, so a little piece of trim fell of the ti and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get it back on. Pics included. Im not really worried about how i get it back on, as long as it gets on and stays there. Thanks

Remove the clips from the panel, mount the clips to the trim, remount assembly to the panel.

thanks ill give it a try. my only concern is that it looks like the clips might be broken and might not attach to the trim.

The proper way to do it is how Squeelerz suggested. However, your trim piece looks like the plastic rails that the clips attach to are broken. This is kinda scary because if they snap off completely and you lose that trim piece, you're gonna have one hell of a time finding a replacement. You'd probably end up having to buy a complete door molding set which will run you close to 200 bucks! If it were my car, I wouldn't risk those plastic rails snapping and losing a trim piece. Instead, I'd use 3M windo-weld windshield adhesive to glue it on. Not to be confused with rear view mirror adhesive which is basically superglue, 3M windo-weld comes in a caulking tube and is black and rubbery like RTV on steroids. This is some really sticky stuff, I mean it bonds windshields onto cars! You could find it at your local auto parts store. Just slap 3 evenly spaced quarter sized dabs of windo-weld on the trim piece and stick it onto the side of the car. Wait a few hours for it to cure.

You can buy just that one piece individually from Tischer- $27.02, p/n 51138146361 (assuming that is the driver's side- passenger side is p/n 51138146362)

thanks for the info, my preferred choice of finding parts is from guys parting out their cars. i originally thought the trim piece was missing so i asked a guy who was parting his ti out for the piece and he only wanted $10 for it, shipping included but then i found the piece in the passenger door and now here i am

I'd double check it on RealOEM here, but it does appear that all pieces are available individually. You can save about $25 over individual prices if you order it as a complete kit. Most of the people that I've seen parting cars are usually reluctant to sell individual pieces- they'd rather sell it all as one package.

haha well I've never had an issue with trim before so when i tried to fix it i was completely lost. I searched forever and couldn't find anything, probably because its so simple, but i embraced the embarrassment for the sake of my baby and started the thread.

those rails are actually metal. up here where the roads get salted they can rust to the point where the clips won't attach. half of the moldings on my track car are missing for this very reason
