Default Big bore throttle body

I had my TB done last week by Alpina527 and it returned fully polished and bored out a couple of mm's. Now the inner surface is totally flat and I finally got rid of the sticky valve, very smooth right now.
But I have to say I can't notice much difference. I'd say it responds a bit quicker and thats it. I've ordered a Dbilas flowmaster which should give the air a bit more free flow so I hope this makes a difference.
A friend of mine had his E46 M43TU throttlebody (just 1 big valve) done at the same time and that made a big difference. With only a small amount of throttle the engine picks up strongly. M42 has a 2-valve-throttlebody so can't really be compared.
So I wondered if anyone else did some throttlebody-work on a M42 and if they noticed some improvement.

No not really. If I didn't know it was in I wouldn't have noticed it.
So I'm curious if other drivers notice the difference.

Have you considered modifying the valve so that the bigger throttle body opens sooner?

Ok, after a long trip I have to change my opinion. From 4000 rev's on it has a better acceleration than before. It feels a bit more alive.

have you any other mods done Joy? if you went for a chip (viper II i beleive for the m42) and a cold air system. mabey a de-cat (not sure the rules for emmisions in holland) or a less constricted exhaust system you should feel the difference in you ass

of course you´ll also feel the difference in your wallet .. but thats the game fella
