Default DEXRON II ATF

The manual I have says to use DEXRON II ATF for the power steering, however I cannot find DEXRON II around here, I can only find DEXRON III. What should I do?

i think

DIII is a replacement for DII...

i think its just like brake fluid dot3 got replaced by the better dot4... and you can use dot4 in a car that specifies a dot3....

confirm this before changing your fluid tho cos im not 100%....

Dexron III is same as Dexron II just a little better (it still meets the Dexron II requirements).

DOT 4 brake fluid is better than DOT 3, meets the same requirements. However DOT 5 brake fluid is NOT equivalent and can not be used in your vehicle.

Reworded: For tranny: Dexron III can be used in a Dexron II application, but Dexron II can not be used for a Dexron III applicaiton. For brakes: DOT 4 can be used for a DOT 3 application, but DOT 3 can not be used for a DOT 4 application. DOT 5 can only be used for a DOT 5 application.
