Arrow Question about subs..

When I bought the car, the person who owned it before me put a large sub in the back that essentially takes up the whole hatch.

While I love the great sound, I'd like some storage space back there without sacrificing that great sound.

So, my question is, what kind of replacements are available for subs that can be installed in such a way to provide me with some storage space? I've seen a few pictures of them with the sub speakers kind of over on the sides, that's kinda what I'm talking about.

If anyone has had something like this done, what did you pay for it?

buy a fibreglass kit and practice...

make your own sub holder to the right/left or both sides of the boot....

I have absolutely no experience doing anything similar to that

How difficult would it be? I don't mind paying to have it done right

if you go to the right place you can get a custom job rangeing anywehre from $300+.. dependin on the install and the job and stuff.. and if you dont need a sub and amp should save u some money.. since its such a small area in the back..its never too expensive...

My advice, and this is what I plan on doing as well is getting one powered sub. What it is, is like a 10" or 12" sub that has a built in amp that you can just install in the side of the back. Infinity makes a really nice one, and it may seem alittle pricey, but go to Best Buy if you can, cause i know they carry infinity and listen to the one sub... I was very very impressed.

1 sub can be good.. but the down side is that it wouldnt pick up all the notes that 2 subs would..

are those subs in the trunk deck lid? I was wondering if that would work. I know people have done 6 x 9's, but would 2 10" subs sound the same in the trunk lid as in a sealed box?

Two subs DO NOT hit more notes than one sub, all the second sub does is make them more loud. If a one sub system is designed correctly, it can be louder and sound better then many poorly designed two sub systems.

Ken, check out my thread i just put my custom sub box up for sale. Looks like it may be a good option for you. After my box was installed it left me plenty of room for hatch space!!

Yo Ken man all you need in one 10 inch sub. I have a Alpine Type R DVC 10 inch sub powered by a mtx 4250d mono amp and it pounds, rain water jumps on the car.
