New to the site, kinda, new to posting on the site anyway... Looking for a new DD, and I think a ti would be perfect! Going to test-drive a `97 Auto sometime this week. Not that I'm interested in an auto, but just to check out the car in general... Other cars in the household include... `03 BMW 330i ZHP (Mine, DD, soon to be garage queen again) `01 Toyota 4Runner Limited (SO's garage queen) `98 Lexus ES300 (SO's DD) Basically I've been DD'ing my ZHP since my old Civic died on me just a little over a year ago. I love the ZHP, but DD'ing her is PILING on the miles, up to 71k allready! At this rate, she'll be worn out before she's paid for... ZHP has seen its share of auto-x since purchase, I'm sure whatever ti I find will get at least a day or two f auto-x... | | | 07-22-2008, 07:35 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | nice well good luck with the search and welcome to the forums! post some pictures of your zhp __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 07-22-2008, 09:22 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Mud Island, TN Posts: 20 | | | | 07-22-2008, 09:24 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | looking good! i really want a zhp wagon! __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 07-22-2008, 09:29 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Mud Island, TN Posts: 20 | ^ thanks, you are aware they don't exist in the states, right? Not sure if they exist across the pond or not, but anyhow, the following thread is for you! One of my favorites on e46fanatic's, it gets really interesting towards the more current stuff, so I wouldn't recommend putting in the time to read all 30+ pages, just skim through for the pic's, maybe start reading some of his posts 2/3's through... http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=522195 | | | 07-22-2008, 09:37 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | yeah i wish they did though. i just love the looks of a zhp and then love the e46 wagons a friend of mine here has a wagon with the zhp bumpers and a few other goodies and thanks for that link that car is beautful! __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 07-22-2008, 09:39 PM | #7 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Mud Island, TN Posts: 20 | ^ yeah, if I could afford an e46 wagon for a DD, I'd do it, but I cant, so I'm looking for a ti... Imola Red looks fantastic, especially with the blacked out grilles. Hope you find a ti, they are awesome cars. PS- Wagons are sick, especially sleepers, no one expects a wagon to destroy them. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 07-25-2008, 03:33 PM | #10 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Mud Island, TN Posts: 20 | ^ thanks! What is NOT pictured are my CF splitters (installed) and my LED halo's (not installed, soon to be). My replacement jack (crappy e46 jacks break easily) should be here today as well as my OEM short-shift lever. Next on my list after installing the halo's/SSK is to get the car re-tinted. The tint has turned purple on me, its not attractive. Then hopefully I can snag a Bluetooth kit as I was spoiled with a loaner 328iT that had BT, it synced with my iPhone quick and was awesome to talk to people hands-free through the speakers... __________________ Marcus | | | 07-29-2008, 03:58 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Orange County, NY Posts: 1,067 | That ZHP is looking gorgeous! The rims in particualr remind me of the current M5's rims. Awesome car, by the way. Any issues with camshafts flatening out? Been some talk about them being slightly soft and wearing out fast. | | | 08-03-2008, 04:54 PM | #13 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Mud Island, TN Posts: 20 | ^ nah, car has been relatively trouble free, I am, however, slightly un-easy about her CPO warranty expiring at the end of May 2009... I do have the "vanos rattle" but it is very quiet on my car during the warm months, slightly louder in the colder months... Well, I plan to keep on this site, but I did find a great deal on a DD of a different brand. A 2002 Mazda Protege 5, I snagged it for 2k. Running fine, but a 1-owner car that needs some TLC, books at $5500. Plans are to do the necessary work to the car, drive it over the next year, then sell for a slight profit and look again for a 318ti... __________________ Marcus | | | 08-03-2008, 05:17 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Globally Posts: 1,162 | http://www.beisansystems.com/ You might want to check Beisan systems I added these seals to my car was simple and made a differance. Well still love the Imola, wish they would start dropping in prices. They have held good value vs many other recent BMW products. | | | 08-03-2008, 06:22 PM | #15 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Mud Island, TN Posts: 20 | ^ thanks, if the car gets louder, I'll check into that! __________________ Marcus | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
