Default Ti stalled/had to get towed

Had to flatbed my Ti home today, driving home waiting at stop light engine started to sputter so go to rev it up and it dies right in the thru lane at an intersection. Got it pushed off to side safely, pushing car in 92 degrees is fun...
Any way car is running fine sputters and dies, will turn over but won't fire, some times it sounds like it will fire but just spins on starter. All electric works but no firing. Maybe some one can give me a direction to look in...

95 Ti, Auto

Thanks vwt3

Definitely a fuel problem. Pump is running? How much gas do you have?

The fuel level sensor on the BMW sending units is known for getting dirty and sending inaccurate information to the fuel gauge. Get a bottle of Techron or the Shell stuff or the Red Line Fuel system cleaner and put that in the tank. Then see how much gas you can get in there. You may very well be out. If that's the case a few tanks with cleaner in it should get the gauge back to normal.

Hey all thanks for the replys. Haven't really checked it since it was brought home. It says it has a half a tank of gas and I have to believe it is true because I filled it up last week. I did try to start it a little while ago and and don't think that I here the fuel pump running. Check engine light will come on if I'm cruising down the e--way for along time but will go out. Will check fuse's Saturday for I'm home all day. Thanks again for all suggestions and comments all are welcome.

Maybe get lucky and its only a fuse..........vwt3

If you go to walmart, buy yourself 7 bottles of HEET. Every time you fill up your gas tank, take one bottle and dump it into your tank. I've done 10 times, and I've been getting wonderful gas millage and I have never had any problems.

HEET is not expensive and it's definitely worth the money.

Check the connector at the fuel pump for voltage when you bypass the relay to be sure.
