I like the color alot, I wish that some of the colors that were held over and used just in europe would come to the states. Not sure about all the CF tho. | | | 04-12-2005, 03:22 PM | #3 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | Car looks really nice and clean,i'm not a fan of the carbon fiber on the inside, looks better stock IMO __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 04-12-2005, 03:24 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Great White North! Posts: 701 | I am personally not a fan of CF hoods. I like carbon fiber as an interior accent but on on huge exterior part like a hood, I find it totally ruins the look unless you partially paint it. If it doesn't help you won't use it for the track, spend your cash elsewhere! When did you do the Hartge conversion, because last year I've been in Beckingen (main factory from Hartge) in Germany and they told me they don't do that kind of conversion anymore. The only conversion they still do is the 5.0L, and this costs 50.000€ | | | 04-12-2005, 04:39 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Great White North! Posts: 701 | Hey thanks, The conversion was done in '96 by my BMW main dealer who was the Hartge Canadian distributor at the time. I wanted to go to Beckingen in '00 to test the 5.0L but did not have the time as I as in Greece. Did yo test derive it? | | | 04-12-2005, 05:57 PM | #10 | Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Belgium Posts: 37 | To be honest, I don't think I would have the guts to drive it, that thing is a beast, 450HP in such a small car, that's insane. I've seen the car and the rear fenders are really huge. Allthough they do a full conversion of your car, 50.000€ is still too much | | | 04-12-2005, 06:03 PM | #11 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: georgia Posts: 7 | very nice car. looks awesome, i bet it's fun. | | | 04-12-2005, 06:03 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Garden City, NY/Daytona Beach, FL Posts: 228 | Sick car! I think that's the coolest strut-bar I've ever seen. Looks really solid. Love the color. __________________ --------------------------------------- '97 Hellrot 318ti - Active, 5 speed 17'' BMW Motorsport Wheels ACS-"Style" (E-Bay, haha) Racing Pedals M Frontspoiler (OEM) Alpine CDA 9827 MP3/CD Head Unit Alpine E12 Subwoofer (now stolen) Audiobahn A4002T Amp (also now stolen) Dented driver side fender (provided courtesy of blind 80 year old woman) Keyed passenger door (provided by someone who likes to key red cars) Soon to come (now that I've graduated and have a real job) S52 Engine Swap!!! Posts: 701 | You're right 50K is alot of coin. But they definitely know wht they're doing. I spoke to George at Hartge right after they finished it and he told me that they hand-form the rear arches to fit 265/30/19 rear tires and they look as if they were like that from the factory. That's awesome! | | | 04-12-2005, 06:42 PM | #14 | Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Belgium Posts: 37 | do you have any numbers of your ride, HP, 0-60, 1/4 mile ? | | | 04-12-2005, 06:50 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | Weird.... I was on Cardomain last night for the first time and dialed up your page. Wondered where you were with that color and a Hartge conversion.
