Default New Project Compact

Evening people
Only recently signed up to the forum after picking up a damaged 99 316i(1.9).
Didnt pay much for it and damage isnt too bad so thought id turn it into a bit of a winter project.
Started gathering the parts together to replace the damaged bits then ill start on a little modifying.
Ive got all the parts in my garage to put an M50 engine in it.
Also got a set of E34 15" BBS wheels(basketweaves) so might look at getting some stretched tyres on those and see what they look like?
Anyway took a few rubbish pics of it today and thought id share them with you.
Ill update the thread with pics as and when I get them done.

Tony

Already picked a few parts up fot it including a pair of headlights, front bumper with foglights(Silver),replacement alloy and tyre.
Also got this steering wheel and centre console from a Ri in the local breakers

Oh and heres a pic of my daily drive too.

You could get a Ti with an arm rest in the stock center console in the UK? Cool, I never knew that... An arm rest was never a stock option here in the States. Only the 325 or 328 had those.

The armrest was an accessory you could get from the dealer in 95, It fit in the square hole behind the cup holders. Found a pic of one on real or one of the parts sites one time but near as the dealer could tell its been OOP for years.

Yea, I'm betting it was only sold with the Leather Sport interior since they don't list any vinyl ones.

Well just to complicate things further the ti it came from had cloth interior.
Tempted to just stick it on Ebay and put the monies to other things for the car such as coilovers.Just looked on Ebay UK and none listed to fit a ti wharsoever, just Coupe and Saloon(Sedan) ones.

Its referred to as a Compact in EU...

I'd never let it go, Its my only real gripe about the car , I bang my elbow on top of that plastic rear piece all the time...

Ah do you have the armrest too then as the console is quite low without the armrest isnt it?

Hello Zerotonine, yes its me off the Zone

Well finally made some progress.
Picked up a cpmplete front end from 4 different donor cars.
Replacement panels all dent and rust free and OEM so fit well too.
Paint was done by a local company for a decent price.
Considering the rest of the car hasnt been polished yet the match is very good.
Was a nice easy repair to be honest with no hidden nasty surprises.Just got to refit the plastic undertray parts which ill do soon.

Heres a few pics of my progress.
