For those who have the bulky and rediculous airflow meter that is made by BOSCH then this apllies to you. If interested reply so I can e-mail you my little video I made performing this upgrade. by-the-way. It is absoultly free and able to return back to its OEM place. | | | 06-13-2005, 04:31 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Walnut Creek, CA Posts: 642 | OK, I'm interesed. I believe we have 1.9L DOHC = \ Unless its for an e30 318 I suppose. __________________ Joe, In San Luis Obispo E30-> '96 TI sport -> E30 -> '96 TI | | | 06-13-2005, 03:14 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Florida Posts: 1,595 | | | | 06-13-2005, 03:15 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Great White North! First remove your air flow meter from the hose and filter box. Next with the use of a razor (be very carful mind you) remove the lid on the black box (where the wires connect to) by cutting the silicone adhesive from around it. VERY CAREFULLY remove the top lid of the box. Next, once you've removed the lid you'll see the guts of your flow meter. Look for a clip in the corner holding the black base dial (it will say 512 around the dail) thing down. Carefully remove the screw holding it in place while keeping tension on the dial with a free hand. Next, slowly rotate the dial back to reduce tension so the little aluminum flap inside the the housing can move easier. It took me tinkering around with it for a few hours to get it where I wanted it but eventually I tuned it to where it got the results I was looking for from a free mod. Anyway, once you've reduced tension put everything back together in reverse order..etc( I don't need to explain it you all are not morons) NOTE: once you have it to where you want it only then should you silicone the lid back on. But if any of you have questions and I am sure you will e-mail at bandl4ev@netzero.com and I'll call you so I can go over it with you. For those of you worried that you'll screw something up don't worry my check engine light never came on and if, only if, one of you break it completly I have an extra airflow meter I can send you all you would have to do is just pay the shipping. Well hope I did an okay job explaining it.
