Default WTB: Shocks and springs for 318ti

Hello
I am new to this forum. I just purchased a 1997 318ti and I need to buy some parts for it. I am looking for used H&R springs and Bilstein or Koni shocks.
Please let me know what you have.
Thanks

Good luck. I'm in the same boat as you are, and haven't come across anything used. Best deal I've seen for a sport "kit" is Bavauto.com...they have a kit for 640 that uses their proprietary springs. Everyone else seems to be over 700.

Thanks a lot
I'll check the BAVauto out. I really like H&R springs and they seem to be cheaper comparing to E30 springs but the Bilstein shocks are more expensive for E36 cars like mine.

I have read some of the BMW owner's feedback on BavAuto spring and looks like they are too soft for my taste so I am still looking for H&R sports springs with Bilstein sport shocks. I may consider Coni shocks as well.
Anybody?

Thanks but I don't think the other E36 springs would work on 318ti.
I say this because turner sells H&R springs and their website says the springs for 318ti are specific to the model. Please correct me if I am wrong.

You are correct, the springs are specific to the ti. regular e36 sedan and coupes have a different setup for the rear suspension. Finding a used set of H&R springs is not easy, but just keep searching. I found a set on ebay a few months back...

Now, Z3 springs/shocks/struts will fit our cars perfect, but the rear spring rates are a little off.

Well, I can get the springs about $220 new but the shocks are mainly what I am looking for. I am looking for a used set if I can find but looks like I have to go with the new ones.
Does any of you guys have H&R race springs? Are they really harsh because I would like the lower stance of H&R rave springs. I have also purchased a set of Ac Schnitzer wheels 17x8.5 et35 and I was wondering if they would rub if I use the race springs. I am planning to use 225/45/17 tires with those wheels.
Any input will be appreciated.

I am running H&R race springs, the ride is not too bad. The drop is nice, but not too low either.

I doubt you will have any rubbing problems with those rims. I am running a 17x8 OEM Style 5 from a 5 series with -20mm offset with 215/40's, and only needed a little fender roll to fit them.

I see. What shocks are you using? Bilstein sports or Koni shocks?
Also, my tires are 225/45/17 and they have larger sidewall then 215/40/17.
If the H&R race springs are not too harsh with Bilsteins then I'll get the race springs because I like the drop better.

I ran 245/45/17's on M3 rims with no problem, you should be fine. I am running on Bilstein's, which I like very much.

FYI, we have a local bmw (and euro's) meet every other week in Benicia. Come out and meet up with us!
