Better yet, how about the Internet? In the US you can buy a muffler you like then take it to an exhaust shop and have them fab up the parts between the flange on the front pipe to the muffler. Doesn't that guy Leepu live by you? You could see if he can do it. http://www.yourdiscovery.com/chopshop/cast/leepu.shtml Last edited by dave45056; 03-05-2011 at 03:43 AM. | | | 03-05-2011, 04:00 AM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2011 Location: london Posts: 13 | I did go into boots but they said the lipstick tubes would melt as the engine got hot, that got me confused. i did go into a exhaust specialist and they told me it would cost more money in labour costs then it would to buy a original bmw exhaust. The internet, of cause i looked there but i ain't going to pay £200 for a little bit of pipe work, didn't know if any of you guys had any quick ideas or CHEAP places i could look. maybe get someone to weld a scaffold pole in its place. if not I'll just stick with original. | | | 03-05-2011, 05:02 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | it shouldn't be too much labor to just have them chop the muffler off and weld a new one onto the original pipe | | | 03-05-2011, 05:27 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Oxford, Ohio Posts: 868 | Seriously... Most people here will go for a Stromung or Ansa Sport or Stock Catback exhaust. Stromungs are loud, but Ansa Sport is mellow sounding. Both look cool. I got a Racing Dynamics exhaust on my car, It's a dead ringer for supersprint. But I don't think these are available anymore for the ti. | | | 03-05-2011, 10:18 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2009 Location: Orange County, CA Posts: 2,019 | I didn't do the usual "what the community does", I did a custom DTM style muffler. Great sound and at highway cruising VERY quiet. | | | 05-19-2011, 10:53 PM | #7 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2011 Location: Plains, PA Posts: 18 | hey eurohb where'd u get your dtm at? i've been lookin for exhausts for a while and still haven't found anything for a decent price. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
