I went with the 205_40_17's as mentioned above.. Thanks for the input everyone! I am happy with the fitment thus far tho I have some reverse rake to sortout I couldnt be more happy. I love the way 40's look on 17's! I will get nice tires in a few months when I see how the camber wear does! I also wanted to test the fitment and see about suspension so I can sort all the details out and then I figure order up the nice treads/ This is just to get by on untill Im ready to roll for the summer! Man I need some front springs badly... I couldnt beleave how low the arse of Ti's sit stock | | | 03-25-2011, 06:59 PM | #17 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by 32styledTI I found these and found that they cost lots... My problem now is I need to find caps, would anyone know where I can find some? | Congrats! Are you looking for the center caps that cover the lug bolts item# 5: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...17&hg=36&fg=15 If you're looking for the actual plastic covers that snap onto the wheel, I'd suggest Tischer(getbmwparts.com). They sell them individually(part#36131181068) for $16.60. Otherwise if you're looking for the emblems, you can also get the BMW emblems from Tischer, or you can get 70mm BBS caps from blackforestindustries.com. The BBS caps fit perfectly in the style 5 centercaps, however, the backs of them will need to be modified and the cap will need to be glued into the center of the style 5 cap. Hope that helps | | | 03-27-2011, 12:29 AM | #18 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by 32styledTI I couldnt beleave how low the arse of Ti's sit stock | it's really common for the ends of the rear springs to break off, that's probably why yours is low. nice rims | | | 03-27-2011, 07:55 AM | #19 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2011 Location: Toronto Canada Posts: 143 | Quote: Originally Posted by tiFreak it's really common for the ends of the rear springs to break off, that's probably why yours is low. nice rims | Hey thanks for the complement on the wheels, I put them in my shwarz II TI I just stuck those caps in for the time being, they dont match at all. I gotta take a look at the springs, now that you mentioned that I had another car that was proned to doing that... I should take a look Ill bet right now thats what happend as the car seems to be lowered in the rear and 3 inchs high in the front. everyones saying stay away from racelands coils but for the price, its tough to pass them up... Maybe just stay static and get the H&R up front? i really need to order some wheel caps, I already got a reply from getbmwparts.com I will order them first thing monday morning and then go with the bbs caps like cooljess recomended Last edited by 32styledTI; 03-27-2011 at 08:06 AM. | | | 03-27-2011, 08:18 AM | #20 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by 32styledTI I already got a reply from getbmwparts.com I will order them first thing monday morning | Dude man, those guys at Tischer are really cool to deal with. I've never waited more than a couple hours for an email and if you talk to them on the phone they're even more awesome. I used to order the majority of my parts from pelicanparts just to take advantage of the free shipping on orders over $75, however now I give all of my business to getbmwparts, even if it costs a little more. You could always call them and they'll beat pelican's prices, but I don't even bother sometimes. Good service deserves repeat business. BTW, the wheels look great! | | | 03-28-2011, 12:05 AM | #21 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | If money isn't an issue, D2 coils are sick. They handle great. Very good prices and they are really quick to respond, Thanks again Jess for the great link! Very good people, now lets see how long the customs agents takes to rape me on duty and brokerage. | | | 05-26-2011, 09:05 PM | #25 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Chicago Posts: 111 | I guess that's a sneak peak of what they will look like on mine. I got them a couple of weeks ago, and was contemplating polishing the lips or not. I'm getting tires this weekend and my Ti is dropped with Racing Dynamics springs that I got from a member here a couple of years ago. __________________ "Never trust a big butt and a smile" 97- 328Ti (daily) 01- S2K (auto-x, cruiser) 96- JDM Integra SiR-G turbo (1/4 mile, auto-x, road course, show) Last edited by jae_rex; 05-26-2011 at 09:25 PM. I'm looking to get some roadstars for daily rims Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk __________________ Im guessing im the youngest member on here with a S52 power'ed Ti at 16 years old! | | | 05-26-2011, 09:29 PM | #27 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Chicago Posts: 111 | So just keep them as is? They aren't bad, but they definitely don't pop. I haven't even cleaned them yet in the pic. __________________ "Never trust a big butt and a smile" 97- 328Ti (daily) 01- S2K (auto-x, cruiser) 96- JDM Integra SiR-G turbo (1/4 mile, auto-x, road course, show) | | | 05-26-2011, 10:25 PM | #28 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | No I would still do it for sure. I love my polished lip. They pop. It's just when you leave brake dust on there for a while. It get like caked on. Then you gotta polish it again lol. Can't see that great from the pics. Is the top of the tire flush with the rim with the recommended tire size of 215/40/17 & ring adaptors? I'd love to get these wheels but don't want them to look funky (rim sticking out further than the tire). Getting H&R sports with Bilsteins sports as well. Looks like I won't be able to run these and lower the car unless I roll the rear fenders. Oh, well. My car is dropped about 2 1/4 on Racing Dynamics springs. I used 215/45/17 for the fronts. (they came with the wheels). I am not rolled or anything, and there is slight rubbing on hard cornering or streets that are less than ideal. __________________ "Never trust a big butt and a smile" 97- 328Ti (daily) 01- S2K (auto-x, cruiser) 96- JDM Integra SiR-G turbo (1/4 mile, auto-x, road course, show) | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
