Been thinking of taking the plunge even at $200 a pop. It's either that or pay $180 for the PS2's? Yay or nay? I'm on 245/40-17 btw. Use would include daily driver and maybe an auto cross event/track event. Plan on rotating every 5k miles. | | | 04-20-2012, 07:02 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | 200 each is cheap. __________________ No more ti. | | | 04-20-2012, 07:06 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: miami Posts: 232 | I wouldn't call $200 cheap, but certainly lower then the $230 that they retail for on tire rack. | | | 04-20-2012, 07:22 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | $200 is a fair price for those- when I was looking for tires a few months back, the place I ended up getting my Yokos from wanted about $225 for the PS2's (comparable size as yours). I had the PS2's on my '95 for awhile a few years back- solid handling, crazy grip, and surprisingly long life for such a grippy tire (I probably put over 25k miles on them and they still had 4-5/32nds of tread left when I sold them). I'm hoping I can get similar mileage on my Yokos. | | | 04-20-2012, 07:58 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: miami Posts: 232 | Zoner, I am tempted to get the pss over the ps2 just because of the 20 dollar difference that they have at the moment. One of the new things about these tires is that they are supposed to last a little more. But for sure before I make the purchase I will refresh the front control arms, tie rods, and strut mounts. | | | 06-08-2012, 02:16 AM | #6 | Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Northern California Posts: 85 | If they're anything like the PS2's, you WON'T regret it. Those were great for track and DDing. I just bought tires and was debating between SSport's and 2 others. That's also a fair price out here. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
