brakelight switch

hello again does anybody know as to why my brake light switch would not be closing aka stopping the flow of volts to my brake lights.Is it possible that i blew something in the switch itself? I am get 12v on both positive connecters for the taillight/brakelight (the double filament bulb),so i know its not a wrong bulb issue,to sum it up brake lights are coming on and staying on including top bar in rear window all other light are in fine working condition. If anyone happens to have any ideas as to what is causing this problem im all ears.

The brake light switches are well known to fail on the E36. Mine did.
