I just took possession of a 1996 ti with a 328 engine from a '96 vert. My brother owns a shop and did the work. Neither of us can figure out where to install the secondary air pump since there's not much space after the swap. We did a complete key/ECU swap, so the car thinks it's a 328 vert. 1 - Where did others install the donor SAP in the ti with this swap? The CEL is on and I'd like to figure this out. 2 - Or, is there a thread with pics to build a SAP simulator? The other thread is detailed but the pics are all defunct. 3 - Or, perhaps there's a way to flash Z3 Euro firmware instead? There's a thread on that, but I didn't see a way to install the 2.8L firmware. | | | 01-14-2018, 10:41 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | 1) Battery to the hatch and install the SAP where it would be in a 328. 2) SAP simulator, you can buy them already made or make one yourself. e36-electronic.com 3. Swap tune can turn off anything you don't want turned on. I went with markert motorworks and have been very happy with their tune, lots of other great tuners out there too. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 01-16-2018, 12:32 AM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2018 Location: Kansas City Posts: 6 | Thanks for the advice. I'll look into the simulator option first! | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
