Hmm Anyway here is a link on the ls1 conversion but not on a ti bot another 3series. Someone has posted a link for the ls1ti before awhile back. Wouldn't you upset the balance of the car, though? | | | 12-13-2005, 05:03 AM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Posts: 22 | here in town there are already 2 ls1 e36 sedan's with another coupe on the way, apperantly the ls1 weights the same as the 6 but makes for a VERY robust car. i had no luck searching the archives on here for the ls1 swap. | | | 12-13-2005, 05:10 AM | #5 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | don't let the smoke get in your eyes ... http://www.nash8503.com/index.html __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 12-13-2005, 05:11 AM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Posts: 22 | Quote: Originally Posted by cali-ti | THANKYOU | | | 12-13-2005, 05:58 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Northern New Jersey Posts: 395 | Oh my! When you said shell, I thought the gas station. Your best bet, as I can't say that I've ever seen this, is just to get a high mileage car with a straight frame. Since you're gonna replace the motor/tranny, you can get one with a jerky transmission which usually will drop the cost quite a bit. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 12-13-2005, 07:23 AM | #10 | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Posts: 22 | there is a nice one that *had* a turbo m3 motor for 1500, but its in ohio | | | 12-13-2005, 08:44 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Find the cheapest one possible, and drive it home. Only takes about 4 days to cross the country. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
