I bought the car about 2 months ago and I am in love with the car. I m getting ready for my first maintenance/oilchange.

The previous owner had done minimal maintenance. make that bare minimum.

Tha car has done 151k miles and I would like to know what all tasks to complete -

Oil change, for sure as the 3000mile ticker is close at hand - I want to try synthetic, not sure for the age of the car.
Transmission fluid? i do not want to do this on my own... any recommendations on oil, stores etc?
Tire rotation and balancing?
The front bumper and grille is a little wobbly and the foglights do not have a switch on the dash. wondering i i can get that fixed.
the elements have taken a toll on the paint and i wanted to know if can do something to get the sparkle back aside from painting it.

welcome to the group, i'd try just waxing your car to see if you can get some more shine.

I switched to synthetic around 150,000 miles. No problems except for the fact that synthetic is expensive and it burned and leaked the oil. I ended up switching back to high mileage oil.

Hey the oil change was easy for me, if you need filters I have 2 filters ( there are 2 types depending on your car) that i have sitting around, I will sell them for super cheap, like jsut shipping cheap. Anyway my rear bumper is wobby, I would get price quotes first, see if its really worth it. I have had my car for almost 2 months now, and I still stop and stare at my car!!

ok, i m guessing when you say that high mileage oil, you are recommending using blended oil. Also, there are two types of oil filters? mine is a 318TI 1997. also, my car stereo has suddenly decided to show a horizontal lighted bar in the display. i can see the disc number and details in the background but vaguely. help!
