It's a nice feature but not ABSOLUTELY necessary.. i mean some cars have still have manual windows.. and in general those manual windows seem much less break-prone than the superflawed ti's automatic windows.. | | | 08-04-2006, 10:14 AM | #17 | Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: London Posts: 79 | i'm gonna turn my rear water jet around, so that it sprays straight up in the air. good for spraying the car behind if they tail gate! LOL! people sometimes have their fronts aimed too high that it goes over their car when they wash their windscreen, and end up wetting my car. i hate that. it's time for revenge ! hehehe! __________________ -Impyboy | | | 08-04-2006, 02:22 PM | #18 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Watford, herts, England Posts: 805 | Quote: Originally Posted by impyboy i'm gonna turn my rear water jet around, so that it sprays straight up in the air. good for spraying the car behind if they tail gate! I have a relatively cheap Rattler system that I isntalled on both my 95 (RIP) and 96 ti. I don't use the alarm feature, just the remote keyless entry. The remote double locks the doors and also locks the gas cap (I'm not sure if this is related to double locking or not, but I didn't do anything different other than the double locking). The double locking trick is very simple, but I can't remember the details off the top of my head. If I remember correctly you just have to make it generate a second signal to the locking mechanism... | | | 08-11-2006, 10:04 AM | #23 | Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: London Posts: 79 | i can't find any info on the web on my alarm model. the instruction says the 2nd button can be set to trigger another device, but doesn't say how it works. i'll have to try to find some wiring diagram on how the gas latch works and how to hook it up to the central lock. then, later i'll work on that 2nd button thing, perhaps remote ignition, or sunroof and window closing. but i'm not too worried about the fuel lid. i'll just close it manually for now when locking up for the night. __________________ -Impyboy | | | 08-11-2006, 03:42 PM | #24 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2004 Location: Pennsylvania Posts: 218 | Ok, I found the site that I used to wire the double lock on my 'ti. excerpt: To get the car to double lock, you need to simultaneously pulse both the lock and unlock wires with 12v. Directions are pretty good, and I found it to be pretty easy (with a trip to Radio Shack for diodes). I am assuming this locks the gas cap as well, at least it seems to on mine (1996). http://www.bmwe36tips.20m.com/bmw-keyless-entry.htm Good luck!
