However, I've been having a problem with it lately. Everytime my vehicle has been parked for a long period of time then I start it, it makes this loud sound. It sounds like if it's the belts, however I've changed the belts and it still makes it. Well, a year ago I changed the a/c bearings and it didn't make it as often. ???Help??? I want my beamer to feel better. | | | 11-07-2004, 08:02 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Tyler, TX Posts: 1,022 | Next time you start the car, have someone else start it, and listen too see if you can figure out about where the sound is coming from. That should narrow it down quite a bit. | | | 11-07-2004, 10:51 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Tampa Posts: 465 | get a mechanic's stetoscope... or a LOOOONNGG screw dricer and listen. might be your alternator bushings. Also check it when the air condition is engaged and disengaged, and see if the tone and pitch of the noise changes. | | | 11-08-2004, 03:40 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Columbia S.C. Then start it w/ the belt off. | | | 11-08-2004, 03:47 AM | #7 | Member Join Date: Oct 2004 Posts: 31 | a bit off-topic, but isnt it spelled 'bimmer' instead of 'beamer'...or is it totally subjective? | | | 11-08-2004, 03:50 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Yes. Bimmer refers to the car, beamer refers to motorcyles. Spelled and pronounced differently. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
