Default I got my Remus

I got my Remus today from FedEx. It looks like monstrous with the wide single exit. I starting to take off the stock catback, but I had class at 4 and my brother was going back to work, plus, the factory nuts are terribly deteriated and they stripped in an instant haha. So I didn't want to be under the car by myself plus be late for class. I got some new nuts from my brother's job, so I should start the install early in the morning tomorrow. Pics, vids, audio, and a full DIY are on the way. Stay tuned. Also this summer I plan on turboing the m44, so this is just the beginning of the summer project. Blessings.

Thumbs up

Thanks for purchasing the Remus. I have been trying to figure out which exhaust to get, any videos with sound will be helpful.

Congrats on the Remus. Waiting to check out vids and pics. I know Juni had one custom fitted onto his 318ti before.

Pheww, man I am as worn as those nuts! They refuse to be moved! I may have to do a few more push ups or something, I'm going to take an hour break to jot down some ideas, get something to eat and whatnot. In the mean time, how did anyone else get the nuts on the flange off? I've pretty much tried everything. . .

I checked out the tutorial in the knowledge base, but these nuts won't budge(thats what she said)

PBlaster is your friend. I also tried a CRC Freeze off product that worked well, too.

Good luck... can't wait to see the pics/vids

I'm assuming you're talking about my KB article.

What are you using for leverage against the flange bolts? Sounds like you need to get yourself a bigger piece of pipe.

Breaker bar against one side, and a 6-pt socket on the other... and enough pipe to give yourself leverage against the fastener.

Or, if you have a grinder, you can just cut it off, which is much easier.

Check the links for hardware P/Ns in my KB article for replacement hardware.

Good luck,

tbw

Thanks fellas, those nuts are beyond anything a ratchet can do. What would you guys recommend I cut them with, I don't have an air chizzle.

Spray it with PB Blaster or rust remover and let it soak first. Do you have a torch to cut or heat up the bolts to loosen the rust. Nothing else works then a good metal saw will have to do. When changing exhaust one should always replace the old bolts and gaskets.

Yo yo guys, I went to German Auto works to borrow a lift port, I got photos, of the procedure and everything I had to do. Should be up by tonight but let me just say...

THE REMUS IS DEADLY!!!
I am very impressed by a used Remus, imagine if I bought one brand new. Its deep enough to feel, but quiet enough to hear a women walking in heals on the sidewalk. It doesn't overpower my music, but raw enough to create a soundtrack of its own. I haven't quite ripped it on the strip yet, but when I do, I'll be sure to have vids. Basic vids coming tonight though.
