Those should be fine to keep with the stock springs. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 09-29-2008, 06:42 PM | #4 | Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Oklahoma City, OK Posts: 45 | sure. the more the better. not sport upgrades suggestions please. They are generally for OEM replacement. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 09-29-2008, 08:42 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Oklahoma City, OK Posts: 45 | do I need to get strut mounts as well? How many? 4 or 2? And if I do what kind?...I know there were aluminum and/or plastic...I may be wrong about that. __________________ all stock '95 318ti m42 auto 150,000mi | | | 09-29-2008, 09:23 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | At the very least get new rear shock mounts. E46 M3 are an upgrade to the stock ones and should be fine going with the stock ride height. You can get new front strut mounts, some people say that they don't need to be replaced, but since you have everything off why not replace them? __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 09-29-2008, 10:06 PM | #9 | Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Oklahoma City, OK Posts: 45 | Would you recommend some rear shock mounts. I appreciate all you guys and your advices but I'm on budget, so only a "must be replaced" parts is what I need. __________________ all stock '95 318ti m42 auto 150,000mi | | | 09-29-2008, 10:42 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | replacing the rear shock mounts when you replace the shocks is smart money even if on a budget. Not sure of cost, but the issue is the stock ones tear which can in turn tear the metal of the rear shock tower itself. That's a lot of $$. When the stock ones fail (or any) you hear a clunk from the back. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 10-01-2008, 03:52 AM | #11 | Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Oklahoma City, OK Posts: 45 | Thanks 96Cali, I read somewhere also about bushings to be replaced as well. Does that apply here? spidertri you recommend E46 M3 shock mounts, are you sure these would work with my ti? __________________ all stock '95 318ti m42 auto 150,000mi | | | 10-01-2008, 04:18 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Yes, E46 M3 mounts work on the ti. There are plenty of different options for RSMs. Check out Turner motorsports, Bav Auto, Pelican Parts, etc. for more RSM options. Turner sells some that have a lifetime warranty and are supposedly better than the M3 ones. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 10-01-2008, 04:27 AM | #13 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | can you provide a link to the exact turnermotorsport RSM? | | | 10-01-2008, 04:30 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | I already posted that link in your thread. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 10-01-2008, 04:34 AM | #15 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | Quote: Originally Posted by spidertri I already posted that link in your thread. | oops, my bad don't make fun of me. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
