Flynn;

I chose to run a custom exhaust from the post-header y-pipe back. Magnaflow racing cat and resonator with a Borla turbo muffler, 2.5" piping. Many threads here regarding exhausts for swaps.

There is not really any easy bolt on solutions. You can utilize the mid-pipe section from any 6 cyl e36 and just have a custom job from the mid-pipe back. Pretty straight forward, any exhaust shop can do it.

Wondering what kind of set ups ppl are using in the 6cyl Ti's

I have a 97 Ti and I want to put a 96 328is motor and trans in (I don't think years are important when it comes to exhausts once u know that both cars are obd2, but whatever)
I want to have a plan for the exhaust once I do the swap
I know I can always cut up the one from my donor car but that would be far from perfect and I don't want to lose torque with my driveway job
I have herd that the system from a 2.8 z3 will bolt in perfectly
Also herd that the header and muffler sections are the same in all 2.8's and the only thing I would need to change is the mid pipe
The last thing I herd was that only the cat back needed to be swapped
I'm not sure what to believe and any input on the subject is much appreciated
Also I herd super sprint makes a system that's a perfect fit wondering about that and where it could be found

You are killing me here.

It's heard!

I had a muffler shop weld some pipes from my cats to a 2 inlet Magnaflow with a single tip.

I used http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-12148/
In searching for my old thread, there are dozens of exhaust threads for conversions.

We are very big on searching here.

Do as others have said:

OEM Headers--->Midpipe (OBDII E36 328/M3)

Midpipe--->Custom catback via Y-pipe OR Z3 catback
