Dave and Kraln ran the code reader on it sunday, and it read 0505 (or 5050) which was the IAC I believe, and 1140, which is a vacuum leak of some-sort. The intake boot has some cracks, but I don't believe they go all the way through, but its worth replacing. Kraln tugged the hose to the injects underneath the manifold and the idle shot up and went back down. | | | 05-03-2009, 07:10 AM | #47 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | I think I can hep you out with the e30 half shafts. They are attached to my 3.45 LSD in my garage but hopefully it will be on my car soon and so they'll be available. Shoot me an offer but feel free to keep looking cuz I won't be able to send for a couple weeks. Good news is I can ship cheap. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 05-08-2009, 05:01 AM | #48 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | So Steven, i heard you talked to my dad recently. One thing though, I've got an E28 diff, but I understand its the same as the E30, besides the diff cover/plate. I'm basing the LSD project on what Tony (blubimma) said in his LSD install thread. | | | 05-13-2009, 02:23 PM | #53 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Raleigh/Charlotte, NC Posts: 1,233 | yup same thing, just gotta swap the rear cover. __________________ -Jeff | | | 05-16-2009, 12:53 AM | #54 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | I'm trying to source a ZF trans as we speak | | | 05-22-2009, 04:56 AM | #55 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | I'm closing in on a 328 ZF trans for 430 shipped. I got my 2nd E30 halfshaft in the mail today. Its different from the first E30 halfshaft I bought. Apparently the first one is from a 325i and second is from a 325e. They have minor difference, but they are pretty much the same length in total, just the shafts are different lengths. But yeah soon I'll have the trans guys | | | 05-26-2009, 04:42 PM | #56 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | *ZF 5 speed trans coming soon. | | | 05-29-2009, 09:54 PM | #57 | Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Fairfield, CA Posts: 93 | If you have an e30 or certain e24, e28 differentials (with different cover), with complete e30 (325i) shafts they will fit just fine. The only thing you will need to do is slightly shim the ABS sensors, otherwise they will hit the shafts disturbing ring. Also, this list is useful: | | | 05-30-2009, 01:18 AM | #58 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | Hey thanks Kili, but what say ye about matching E30 flanges? | | | 05-30-2009, 01:29 AM | #59 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | Hey thanks Kili, but what say ye about matching E30 flanges? | | | 05-30-2009, 03:54 AM | #60 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | Yo Ced, when do you think you are going to start the swap? Once you get the trans? You trying to meet up before the surgery begins???? I'll be down that way over the summer so just give me a call if you want some help with anything. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
